Angkor was once the capital of the Ancient Khmer Empire. It was founded
around the 9th century AD and reached its peak in the 12th century. The temple of
Angkor Wat was dedicated to the Hindu God Vishnu and took over 30 years to build. The
entire city of Angkor was abandoned and rediscovered this century. |
